We are moved that the General Assembly of the United Nations designated November 25th as an international day for the elimination of violence against women, to honor the Mirabal Sisters: Patria, Minerva and María Teresa, political activists from the Dominican Republic that fought for democracy and freedom during the dictatorship of Rafael L. Trujillo (1930-1961) and were brutally killed in 1960 under his orders. Our firm is deeply touched by this gesture, having represented the Mirabal family in court during this tragic episode in their lives.

We mourn the passing of our extraordinary dear friend and partner, Christoph Sieger. Chris was a gifted lawyer, visionary leader, and incredibly thoughtful person who touched the lives of so many at the firm and throughout the profession. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, boundless energy, selfless leadership, tremendous courage, and inner strength. A giant in so many ways, and an inspiration to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as we mourn the loss of a truly special individual. The many memories we have of Chris will live forever.
