Projects for the renovation of Sosúa beach in Puerto Plata begin with an investment of RD$ 600 million

The Dominican government has started a renovation project of Sosúa Beach in Puerto Plata with an investment that will exceed RD$600 million pesos, for the construction of new infrastructure and facilities that will have a positive impact on the tourist activity of the area and will boost investment in this destination.

The project will include the reordering of traffic, the construction of parking lots and the improvement of access to the beaches. In addition, they will implement security measures to prevent illegal activities in the area, provide training for merchants and grant financing facilities for projects that contribute to the improvement of the sector.

Guzmán Ariza Donates a Classroom for Integral Stimulation to Hogar del Niño

On June 2022, the Integral Care Classroom of the Hogar del Niño was inaugurated with the presence of Mr. Fabio Guzman Ariza, and members of the Patronato Benéfico Oriental, the Hogar del Niño and Constructora Castillo R.

In this space, students with physical, motor and cognitive disabilities will receive the support they need for their comprehensive development, including physical-motor therapy, language therapy, neuro-functional therapy and sensory stimulation.

This project was executed under the auspices of our firm, Guzmán Ariza.

Present at the activity were Alejandro Castillo and Víctor Castillo, from Constructora Castillo R., who carried out the work to adapt the infrastructure; Sandra Alvarado, Alessandra Avanzini, Anny Piña and Ana Karen Peralta, from Patronato Benéfico Oriental, Inc., a non-profit organization that manages the Hogar del Niño; and Don Fabio Guzmán Ariza and Alfredo Guzmán Saladín de Guzmán Ariza.

Today we are celebrating the birth, 95 years ago in the city of Salcedo, of what was to become our firm, out of an idea from our founder, Mr. Antonio Guzmán L., an exemplary citizen and notable Dominican lawyer.

Public and Private Sector Sign an Agreement for the Protection of the Loma Quita Espuela Scientific Reserve

The Loma Quita Espuela Foundation and Hacienda Ambrosia signed an agreement for the protection of the Loma Quita Espuela Scientific Reserve, under a cooperation model made up of a non-governmental organization (Loma Quita Espuela Foundation), a private company (Hacienda Ambrosia) and the Dominican State (General Directorate of Parks).

The Loma Quita Espuela Scientific Reserve is of vital importance, not only for its endemic flora and fauna, but also for the production of water that gives life to the María Trinidad Sánchez and Duarte provinces, in the northern region of the Dominican Republic.

Group Enables Provisional Access to the Ensenada Beach in Miches

Alfredo Guzmán Saladin, partner at Guzmán Ariza and member of PROMICHES, participated in the meeting held by the authorities of the Mayor’s Office of Miches, the Rivera del Yásica Corporation; PROMICHES, and the Ministry of Tourism to enable provisional access to La Ensenada beach in Miches. attending to the interest of the community to have access to the beach.

This measure will remain temporary, to provide the Ministry of Tourism with the opportunity to present the definitive alternative solutions for public access in the area, as stipulated in the framework of the Miches Tourism Territorial Planning Sector Plan (POTT) and in the Public-Private Agreement for the Tourism Development of Miches.

Julio Brea Guzmán Chairs an Activity of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center of the CCPPP and Swears in New Arbitrators

The Center for Alternative Conflict Resolution (CRC), an entity attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Puerto Plata, held the conference “Procedure and Management of the Arbitration Trial”, by Mr. Ismael Comprés, who is an arbitrator of the Centers of Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Chambers of Commerce and Production of Santiago and Santo Domingo, and member of the Arbitration Commission within the National Chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, 11 new arbitrators were sworn in, pre-selected by the CRC’s management firm and approved by the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce, at its regular meeting on May 13 of this year.

Dr. Julio A. Brea Guzmán, president of the CRC, thanked the support he has received from the Santiago CRC, and from its president, with whom he is working on a project that allows arbitrators from Santiago and Puerto Plata to practice in both jurisdictions.
