When the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry first developed along the north coast during the 80?s, we were there, opening an office in Sosua and focusing on tourism as a main practice area – the first large law firm in the country to do so. The tourism industry has since then exploded and the Dominican Republic has become the most visited tourist destination in the Caribbean, flourishing in all parts of the country, including Punta Cana, Bavaro, Macao, La Romana, Juan Dolio and San Pedro de Macoris along the southeast; Las Terrenas, Samaná and Las Galeras in the Samana Peninsula on the northeast; Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Playa Grande, Rio San Juan and Cabrera on the north coast, and the metropolitan areas of Santiago in the heart of the central valley (Cibao) and Santo Domingo.
Guzmán Ariza has grown with the development of the industry and has opened offices in all major tourism areas in the Dominican Republic, enabling our lawyers to provide clients with first-hand knowledge about the opportunities, and pitfalls in a particular area. As a result, Guzmán Ariza attorneys have extensive experience providing counsel and all legal services needed for any tourism-related activity in the Dominican Republic and can offer clients area-specific advise as well as counsel on the regulatory framework applicable all business activities and transactions within the industry.
